Dataset Updates June 2023 - Extended Time Series

Keeping existing datasets up to date is just as critical for users as providing access to new datasets. The latest round of updates focused on extending the time series of data available for several of our most used datasets.

• ESA land cover (updated with 2020 data) 
• Landscan population (updated through 2021)
• MODIS night / day land surface temperature (monthly and yearly data through 2022, and upgraded to new/improved version of dataset)
• CRU temperature and precipitation data  (through 2021 and upgraded to new dataset version)

We aim to update existing time series datasets at least once a year. You may notice that the latest year available for some datasets varies, as some data providers require more time to process and release their own updates.
