Data Journalism for Global Development Finance

The Centre for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ-IBA)—a state-of-the-art journalism training center in Karachi, Pakistan—is collaborating with AidData for a specialized journalism training program focused on data-driven reporting on development finance, foreign aid, and economic issues.

This hybrid program combines online learning with a week-long in-person workshop in Karachi, offering participants the opportunity to enhance their reporting skills and compete for story grants.

If you are accepted, participation is free.

The online component begins on June 20th, and the in-person workshop in Karachi, Pakistan will be from July 14th-18th. You must be able to participate in both components to apply.

You must be one, or more, of the following to be eligible:

  • Junior to mid-career journalists (3–10 years of experience)
  • Journalists covering business, finance, or investigative beats
  • Journalism students focused on economic and financial reporting
