Program Manager (TUFF)

AidData’s Program Manager will lead a wide variety of projects for the Tracking Underreported Financial Flows (TUFF) team and will have a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge research with major policy stakeholders in the focus areas of emerging donors (China, GCC, etc.) and new models of funding development globally. This position will be responsible for leading and managing engagements with a multitude of stakeholders/partners, as well as providing support on preparing research proposals, design, implementation and monitoring, data management, report writing, and dissemination and policy outreach.

This position is located at AidData at William & Mary's Global Research Institute in Williamsburg, Virginia. This is a full-time position, and salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications in the U07 range (see Salary Structure for University Employees). This is a restricted position subject to availability of funding. All staff and faculty must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, social sciences, public policy, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Relevant experience working for or with bilateral or multilateral aid agencies, think tanks, or academic institutions
  • Demonstrated excellent program management and organizational skills along with strong quantitative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-level relationships with partner organizations
  • Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Stata, R, ArcGIS, QGIS or other data analysis software
  • Experience conducting research on international finance, blended finance, contemporary development issues, major actors, etc.
  • Ability to travel abroad, at times on short notice
  • Previous experience leading international development research in a project and client management capacity preferred, especially with the Gates Foundation or US government agencies
