Geocoding Research Assistantships

AidData helps make information on development finance more functional through geocoding—the tagging of projects and activities with precise geographic information. The AidData Research & Evaluation Unit is looking for qualified students to apply for Research Assistant positions on the Geocoding team. In this role, students will exploit primary and secondary sources to assign spatial information to existing data on development aid activities.

Students will gain exposure to GIS methods and experience in conducting desk research on development aid. Those interested in International Relations or GIS methods are particularly encouraged to apply. Previous research experience and/or GIS exposure is preferred. The pay rate is $8-12/hr (commensurate with experience) and the expected workload is ~8-10 hours per week.

Application Instructions

Interested students may apply by emailing Christian Baehr (cbaehr@aiddata.org), AidData Junior Data Analyst, with a resume and cover letter. Please put “AidData Geocoding application” in the subject line. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
