GeoQuery Internship – Training Materials (Spring)

AidData’s GeoQuery tool enables individuals and organizations without significant computing power or data science expertise to freely find and aggregate high-quality spatial data into a single, simple-to-use file. The AidData Partnerships and Communications (PComms) team is seeking student support for the spring semester to develop and pilot test a training module that helps organizations in low-income countries to get started using geospatial data with data from GeoQuery.

The intern will gain experience developing a use case while learning how to translate that information into educational product and training materials. All current William & Mary students are eligible, though we specifically encourage students studying Business, Data Science, Education, and/or Marketing (or who have equivalent work experience) to apply. Prior work or field experience in a low- or middle-income country is preferred. Hourly rate of $10 per hour, with an anticipated workflow of 5-10 hours per week.

Application Instructions

To apply, please email Elizabeth Teare (eteare@aiddata.org), AidData Partnerships Associate, with a resume and cover letter. Please put “AidData GeoQuery Intern” as the email subject line. Please note: This internship has now changed from fall to spring semester. Applicants may apply now; applicant review will be conducted at the end of the fall semester, and the candidate will start in January, 2020.
