Research Assistant: Europe & Eurasia Civic Space

AidData is looking to hire research assistants this summer 2021 to work on a series of projects assessing various indications of Russian influence on civic space in Europe & Eurasia. Research Assistants will play a key role in compiling research on topics including financing, media and information operations, and violence and restrictive legislation in seventeen former Soviet and Yugoslavian states. Research Assistants will learn novel research methods, utilize foreign language skills, and assist in various facets of data collection.

Students from all backgrounds and all schools are welcome to apply for the summer internship. Interest in Russia and the E&E region preferred. Proficiency in a foreign language is a plus, especially in Russian or other European local languages. Starting pay is $9.50/hour; experienced RAs are eligible for pay increases up to $12/hour. Research Assistants are expected to work 20-30 hours per week throughout the summer.
