Research Fellows (REU)

The Research & Evaluation unit of AidData at William & Mary’s Global Research Institute is seeking applications for three Research Fellows during the summer of 2023. Fellows will work with Dr. Carly Muir to integrate geospatial techniques into evaluation of agricultural practices and natural resource management. This work is fundamental to the Research and Evaluation unit in AidData, which broadly aims to connect stakeholders and researchers through application of innovative tools to address pressing global challenges.

Fellows will work for approximately 10 weeks full-time beginning June 5, 2023. Fellows may participate from Williamsburg or remotely. Thanks to generous support from GRI, students selected for the program will receive a $5,000 summer stipend.

Applications are open to all W&M Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors with experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Students with knowledge of text-based coding for GIS and interest in interdisciplinary research are strongly encouraged to apply.

Application Instructions

To apply, please send a CV and cover letter to cmuir@wm.edu. Cover letters should include a description of your relevant experience with research and geospatial techniques, as well as a brief explanation of how this Fellowship will contribute to your professional development. Applications received by May 1 will receive full consideration, but earlier applications are preferred. For any questions, please contact Dr. Muir.
