Spring-Summer '26 W&M Undergrad Research Assistant, Critical Minerals
The Tracking Underreported Financial Flows (TUFF) team is looking to hire W&M Undergraduate Research Assistants (RAs) to work on a project which focuses on China's role in financing overseas critical mineral operations related to the clean energy transition for Spring and Summer 2026.
Responsibilities:
RAs will collect data regarding equity investments and private sector financing, as well as for production activities related to critical mineral uses.
RAs are expected to work from mid-February 2026 through mid-August 2026, with possibilities to continue work on an as-needed basis after August. During the academic semester, RAs are expected to work for 10 hours per week, and during the summer, RAs are expected to work for 30 hours per week. The starting pay rate is $13 per hour.
Qualifications:
Students from all backgrounds are welcome to apply to the internship. All interns must be based in the U.S. and currently enrolled at W&M to be hired into paid positions. This internship will be primarily remote, but we may hold a few check-in meetings in-person at the Hive, located in Swem Library, throughout the duration of the internship for W&M students or those based nearby.
