Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Team Internship

The Sustainable Development Goals Team at AidData is accepting applications for Summer 2020 internships! The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development presents a call to action to achieve goals across every facet of development, but the overall picture of what goals are being funded and where more funding is needed remains opaque. Interns will contribute to our efforts to better understand financing to the SDGs by helping us expand our data coverage and supporting targeted analysis. These products will help produce actionable insights for a variety of aid donors and practitioners such as USAID, the World Bank, and the Gates Foundation.

AidData is dedicated to collecting project-level data from as many donors and donor agencies as possible in order to provide the most complete picture of development finance flows and aid effectiveness. We are looking for interns who are motivated and detail-oriented and can make progress with limited supervision. A demonstrated interest in international development and aid effectiveness is a plus, as is experience with data collection or analysis.

We welcome applicants from all majors and all levels of experience, with a particular emphasis on government, international relations, public policy, and global studies. Students from William & Mary, other non-William & Mary schools, and recent graduates are welcome to apply.

The internship starts at the end of May and lasts until the beginning of August, and is located at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Interns will work unpaid for their first 60 hours and are then eligible to become research assistants paid at $8/hr. Remote working options may be arranged as needed.

Application Instructions

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting Monday, April 13th. To apply, send your resume to bvburgess@aiddata.org and fill out the online application here.
