Terms and Conditions

Neither AidData, nor its host institution the College of William and Mary, claim ownership of content published or made available by third parties on, or resulting from the use of information obtained through, this portal, its services and forums. AidData lists development activities as collected from a multitude of aid agencies and other sources in the development community. You (the user) are therefore individually responsible for compliance with the terms of use of any individual data owner or provider (see below for data from the OECD’s CRS). Due to the number of sources from which information on this portal is obtained, and the inherent hazards of electronic distribution, there may be delays, omissions or inaccuracies in the portal’s content. Therefore, AidData and its host institutions cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy, completeness or legality of such content or linked web sites and we disclaim all responsibility for your use of any inaccurate, incomplete or illegal content contained in or linked from our portal.

Data from the OECD’s Creditor Reporting System (CRS)

A large number of records in AidData’s Core Database and Core Research Release are republished from the OECD’s Creditor Reporting System. Where records have been republished from the OECD’s Creditor Reporting System, they are identified as such in the source fields. The OECD has placed the CRS data on the OECD Website free for the use and consultation by the public. For complete details, please see the OECD’s full terms and conditions. As with all data incorporated into AidData’s data products from third parties, you are responsible for compliance with the terms and conditions from these third parties (such as the CRS) before using the data.

Except where additional restrictions apply as stated below, you can extract from, download, copy, adapt, print, distribute, share and embed Data for any purpose, even for commercial use. Data may be subject to restrictions beyond the scope of their Terms of Use, either because specific terms and conditions apply to those Data or because third parties may have ownership interests in some of the Data. It is your responsibility to verify the Data’s source information (under ‘Data source(s) used’)  to determine whether that Data is fully or partially owned by third parties, whether additional restrictions may apply, and to contact the owner of the Data before incorporating it in your work in order to secure the necessary permissions. The OECD or AidData in no way represents or warrants that it owns or controls all rights in all Data, and the OECD or AidData will not be liable to any User for any claims brought against the User by third parties in connection with the use of any Data.

The entire risk as to the use, quality and performance of the CRS Dataset, or the data it contains, is with the user. In no event, will the OECD or AidData be liable for any direct or indirect, incidental or consequential losses or damages, including, but not limited to, where caused by inaccuracies or errors in the CRS Dataset, or the data it contains, loss of data, loss of profits, or any other financial loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, even if the OECD or AidData was notified of the possibility of such damages.
