AidData’s Working Paper Series contains pre-publication papers addressing the causes and consequences of development finance; whether, when, and how data transparency and accountability initiatives lead to better decision making and improved development outcomes; and related research methods.

Guidelines for Working Paper Authors
Formatting Guidelines
Font Family
Helvetica Neue or Arial. Only use one typeface for the entire working paper. This includes any embedded tables or figures. (Exception: equations can be set in whatever font accommodates the symbols that you need to use.)
Font Size
11 pt for body text (paragraphs); 9 pt for footnotes. Use your discretion for other text elements.
Text Color
Do not use colored text.
Paragraph Spacing and Alignment
Ensure whitespace of at least 1 line in between paragraphs. Paragraphs should be left aligned rather than justified. Default line spacing is fine. (i.e. Do not double space paragraphs.)
Document Margins
Do not go below 1" margin on any side.
