AidData researchers held a panel on "China’s Expanding Influence in Latin America and the Caribbean" at the annual conference hosted by AMEI (Asociación Mexicana de Estudios Internacionales) and the International Studies Association (ISA) in Mexico. They shared insights from AidData's research into China's development finance and soft power abroad.

Following the conference, AidData researchers served as guest editors of a special issue of the Journal of Current Chinese Affairs, with the topic "China’s Expanding Influence in Latin America and the Caribbean: Development Financing, Public Perceptions, and Strategic Partnerships."
