Junior Program Manager (PAU)

AidData produces novel data, tools, and research that answers the question: who is funding, what, where, for whom, and to what effect around the world? AidData has an explicit focus on data and research that meets high academic standards but is also accessible and relevant for a broad audience of international relations practitioners, policymakers, journalists, and scholars. AidData’s work is made possible by generous financial support of international organizations such as the World Bank and United Nations, private philanthropies such as the Hewlett and Gates Foundations, and government agencies such as the US Department of State and USAID.

The Junior Program Manager (JPM) is a research staff position at AidData. JPM positions are designed for college graduates who would like to: deepen and broaden their analytical, methodological, and management skills; receive on-the-job training and mentoring from a group of professional staff and researchers; and prepare for future professions in academia, public service, and/or the private sector. Each JPM divides his or her time between research project management and other specialized research, analysis, and policy outreach activities. Specialized duties are assigned based on the skills, interests, and experiences of the incumbent. JPMs play an important role in helping AidData expand its reach and impact in coordination with a variety of institutional partners, such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the World Bank, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Humanity United, and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. Selected candidates must be willing to maintain a strong commitment to and understanding of AidData’s mission and goals.

This position is based at AidData at William & Mary's Global Research Institute in Williamsburg, Virginia. This is a full-time position, and salary is commensurate with experience up to $35,000.
