Research Assistant: China Soft Power Indicators

The China Soft Power Project at AidData is hiring Research Assistants for Spring 2021 to assemble a first-of-its-kind dataset on the Chinese government's Soft Power activities (e.g., elite visits and inbound/outbound student flows) globally. The resulting data will assist policymakers in better understanding the scale and scope of China's Soft Power activities. This research is funded by USAID.

College of William and Mary students from all backgrounds are welcome to apply. Proficiency in foreign languages is a plus, especially in Mandarin. Research Assistants will work unpaid for the first 60 hours and are then eligible to become research assistants who are paid $8/hr. Experienced RAs are eligible for pay increases up to $12/hr. Research Assistants are expected to work remotely for a minimum of 10 hours per week in the spring.
