Spring '26 W&M Undergrad Research Assistant, Tracking Underreported Financial Flows (TUFF)
AidData's Tracking Underreported Financial Flows (TUFF) team is looking to hire Research Assistants for Spring 2026 to work on a series of projects. Research Assistants will play a key role in assembling the world's most comprehensive dataset on Chinese official financing, spanning the globe.
Work will include but is not limited to: identifying new Chinese financing, scraping government documents, and synthesizing information according to specific methodological standards. Your efforts will assist policymakers and practitioners better understand the scale and scope of development and commercial finance from nontraditional donors.
Students from all backgrounds are welcome to apply to the internship. Proficiency in foreign languages is a plus, especially in Chinese, Spanish, French, Arabic, Korean, or Japanese language. All interns must be based in the U.S. and currently enrolled as a student at William & Mary.
Research Assistants (RAs) are expected to make a commitment to work at least 10 hours per week during the Spring term. Research Assistants are paid at a rate of $13/hr. Experienced RAs are eligible for pay increases up to $16/hr.
