He actively contributed to research on India-China relations, China's security interests in South Asia, and nuclear dynamics in South Asia with three Indian think tanks — the Chennai Center for China Studies (C3S), the Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS), and the Delhi Policy Group (DPG) — between 2019-2022. He then relocated to San Diego to pursue a Master of International Affairs degree at UC San Diego's School of Global Policy and Strategy with specializations in International Economics and Chinese Studies.
During Pavan's graduate education, he actively participated in the university's ongoing research as a Graduate Student Researcher at the 21st Century China Center (21CCC).
