Using geospatial data for deforestation compliance

AidData partnered with the Committee on Sustainability Assessment (COSA) to assess the accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and inclusiveness of using Earth Observation (EO) data and traceability systems for EUDR compliance among coffee producers in Central America.

We focused on the coffee sector in Honduras and collaborated with in-country partners and Early Action initiatives supporting compliance efforts, as well as providers of deforestation detection solutions. Earlier this year, AidData and COSA attended the 2026 African Fine Coffees Association (AFCA) event in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to share the findings of our research with critical actors in the coffee sector.
